AirFocus – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AirFocus (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the AirFocus mobile application (the “App”).
We designed AirFocus to help you run focused “flights,” track time, and see your progress—without ads or tracking. We collect only what’s needed to provide the App and its features.
If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the App.
1) Who we are & how to contact us

2) What we collect
A. Account & Authentication
Email & basic profile information from your chosen sign-in method (Apple Sign-In and/or Google Sign-In).
Authentication identifiers required to keep you signed in.
B. App Content You Provide
Focus scenarios you select (e.g., Study, Revise).
User settings, such as:
Preferred map style and labels toggle.
Notification preferences (enabled/disabled) and preferred time.
Audio/sound preferences and map selections on the flight screen.
Session/flight data, like focus durations, start/end timestamps, and route endpoints you choose for the visualization.
C. Optional Permissions
Notifications: If you enable notifications, we store your chosen time and enable local notifications on your device.
Location (if used for “nearest airport” or similar): If you grant location access, we use it once to find a nearby airport and do not store precise location continuously.
D. Automatically Collected (App Operations)
App performance and basic diagnostics (e.g., error logs) to keep the App reliable.
No advertising IDs and no cross-app tracking.
We do not collect:
Sensitive categories (e.g., health, financial, biometric), unless you voluntarily type something into free-text fields (not typical in AirFocus).
Contacts, photos, microphones, or background location.
3) Why we collect it (legal bases)
We process your data to:
Provide the App and its core features (performance of a contract).
Save your preferences and flights so your experience persists across sessions (legitimate interests).
Send notifications only if you opt in (consent).
Improve reliability and security (legitimate interests).
4) How we use your data
To authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
To render your experience (map style, labels, audio, and other preferences).
To save and show your flights/focus sessions and analytics (e.g., today’s time, history, trends).
To schedule local notifications at your chosen time (if enabled).
To respond to support requests you send us.
We do not:
Sell your data.
Share your data with advertisers.
Track you across other apps and websites.
5) Where we store and process data
We use Supabase (managed Postgres + authentication) to store your account, user settings (e.g., map preferences, notification time, scenarios), and flight/session data.
We use Mapbox for map rendering (map styles and tiles may be requested from Mapbox’s CDN when you view the map).
Data may be processed in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area (EEA), United States, and/or other regions where our providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) where required.
6) Data sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us deliver the App:
Supabase (database, authentication, APIs).
Mapbox (map tiles/styles).
Apple / Google (sign-in, as chosen by you).
Each provider only processes data on our behalf and subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
7) Retention
Account & settings: kept while your account is active.
Flights/sessions: kept until you delete them or delete your account.
Notifications preferences: kept until you change or delete your account.
Diagnostics/logs: kept for a limited period for reliability and support.
When you delete your account from Settings, we delete or anonymize your personal data from our systems within a reasonable period, including related user records (e.g., user settings, flights/sessions), subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.
8) Your choices & rights
Notifications: You can enable/disable notifications and edit the time at any moment in Settings.
Location: Grant or revoke access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
Access / Correction / Deletion:
View and update your settings in the App.
Use the Delete Account option to permanently delete your account and associated data.
You can also email us at support@airfocus.app for assistance.
UK/EU users: You may have additional rights under UK GDPR/GDPR (e.g., data portability, restriction, objection). Contact us to exercise these.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9) Children
AirFocus is intended for users 4+. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 4. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data (e.g., authentication, role-based access, and least-privilege database policies). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we continually work to improve protections.
11) International transfers
If data is transferred outside your country/region, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms where required by law.
12) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the latest version in-app and/or on our website, with the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
